PilotEdge Integrates ATIS System

Over on their Facebook page, PilotEdge has announced that they’ve launched a long-requested feature into their network, a fully-integrated ATIS system for supported towered airports.

With the launch of the ATIS system, pilots flying on the network can now obtain up-to-date weather and significant flight planning data published on the respective ATIS frequencies. This includes runways and approaches in use and information on runway closures. Controllers will also have access to this data and will ensure to verify that pilots are reporting in with the exact ATIS code.

In addition to the ATIS system, PilotEdge is making it more simple to fly when using custom weather (weather settings which aren’t current real-world conditions). Pilots are now able to report in with information ZULU (Z) as a way to inform controllers that they are using custom weather. There is also a new ‘custom weather’ checkbox on the web-based flight plan filing form.

You can learn more about the new PilotEdge ATIS System here and to see it in action, you can check out the preview video embedded above.
