UK-based development team Pilot Plus has announced that the release of Wycombe Air Park for Microsoft Flight Simulator will be ready for customers very soon. The small airfield in the UK, not too far from London itself, has already been released for Prepar3D and X-Plane 11, but this time, the product has been built from scratch to take advantage of the latest technology found in the new simulator.
Wycombe Air Park from PIlot Plus will come complete with PBR materials, detailed 3D modelling and plenty of other small details that Pilot Plus are known for with their airfield releases. A new feature that is coming to the scenery is the integration of dynamic rain hitting the glass air traffic control tower. As shown in the video, when the rain comes pouring down on the glass (not uncommon in the UK…), the water will land, roll and bounce realistically off of the surface. You can see the feature in action in the video below.
Alongside this, Pilot Plus also shared some new screenshots of the scenery. You can also view some side-by-side comparisons of how the scenery looks compared to the default airport in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
When Wycombe Air Park releases for Microsoft Flight Simulator, customers will be able to buy it from Orbx Direct for $18.99 AUD (approximately $12.49). It will also be released through the Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace and also the Pilot Plus shop come October. Those customers who have purchased Wycombe Air Park before will receive a 25% discount (although it’s unclear if that applies to all stores or just selected ones).
