In their final monthly update of 2025, Pilot Experience Sim (PESIM) detailed the amount of reference material they have gathered for their upcoming Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (LFPG) scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2020 and 2024. The French developer has stated the goal of making its rendition of Europe’s third-busiest airport “…not just another LFPG,” but rather the definitive version of the airport.

In the update posted to their social channels, PESIM expressed disappointment regarding the recent announcements of competing LFPG scenery projects for MSFS. However, they emphasized their position as a French-based team provides them with unprecedented access to the real-world airport through partnerships with active air traffic controllers, pilots, and airport staff. As such, the team has captured over 250 GB of reference materials, including hours of footage in areas otherwise restricted from public view.
PESIM states that their access to LFPG will ensure unmatched realism for the mega-airport and reiterated their goals for the project: Unprecedented operational realism, extreme visual fidelity, down to details that only professionals know, innovative technologies developed specifically for this scenery, and advanced optimization to ensure solid performance despite a very high level of detail.

While PESIM is now fully focused on the project using the references they have collected, the developer noted that the sheer scale of the mega-hub means a release is still some time away. According to comments posted on Facebook by the developer, we can expect the project to be completed sometime in 2026, with the team promising continued transparency and regular development previews as they work to create their definitive version of LFPG for MSFS.
