Parallel 42 has updated its 777 Immersion pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator to allow Captain Sim users to take full advantage of the new new effects that product brings with it. Originally released a few weeks ago, the 777 Immersion Pack offers new effects for those flying the Boeing 777 in the simulator. Such effects include wing condensation, tyre markings, and much more.
The new update brings most of these effects to Captain Sim’s large collection of 777 products. This includes the following:
- 777-200ER GE
- 777-300ER GE115
- 777 Freighter
- 777-300 PW4000
- 777-3000 RR Trent 800
- 777-200LR Worldliner
- 777-200/200ER PW4000
- 777-200/200ER RR Trent 800
- 777-300ERSF Special Freighter
- KC-777 Tanker Transport
Whilst most of the effects are functional there are two notable ones that are absent due to missing variables or the system functionality not being available on the plane. These are:
- Hot Brakes effects are not available on the Captain Sim 777 series.
- Fuel Jettison is not available on the Captain Sim 777 series.
The update is now available for free via Parallel 42’s website, Contrail and also Orbx. You can pick up your copy from Contrail. Remember SimFX is required in order to take advantage of these effects.
SimFX Updated
Speaking of SimFX, Parallel 42 has updated the product. Namely, it is an update that adds performance improvements, improves cloud effects for immersion packs and fixes a number of issues.
Over the past few months, Parallel 42 has also observed that its heatblur effect was starting to block default aircraft effects. They said that the rendering engine had limitations that had this impact and are now therefore trying to give users options. On PC, you can download the Heatblur mod in order to use it, but on Xbox, users will regress back to the default effect. You can see more about this here.
