Parallel 42 has released its Victoria Falls scenery pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This new scenery package from the team will give you the chance to discover waterfalls, bush strips and heliports located off the Zambezi River at the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Victoria Falls, stretching 1,708 meters wide and standing 108 meters tall, is the largest sheet of falling water on the planet, larger than Niagara Falls in both height and width. The landscape around the falls and the Zambezi River gorge has been intricately sculpted to provide an immersive experience, especially for low-flying helicopter tours.
Additionally, the pack features recreated helipads along the riverbanks, designed for dropping off and picking up white-water rafting tourists. Two notable heliports, Masuwe and Chikopokopo, are positioned uniquely close to each other, separated only by a single dirt track.
For a seamless experience, the newly constructed Baobab Camp Airstrip, connected to the Baobab Heliport, accommodates United Air Charter Cessna Caravans. This airstrip comes with custom ground textures and an open-sided hangar, enhancing the realism and enjoyment of your flights. There are also 30 helipads to land at.
This release comes right after Parallel 42 announced that Simon Fogarty, aka Jeppeson2001, had joined their team as ‘Head of Scenery Development’ at the company. Clearly, he has taken this new role seriously, creating a unique playground in a very cool part of the world.
