The long-awaited return of Parallel 42’s Flow Pro and Flow Essentials is now here for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. After months of development, testing, and iteration, the team says the popular in-sim interface tool has finally reached the level of polish they were aiming for in the new simulator.
If you’re unfamiliar with the products, Flow focuses on reducing friction within the simulator by making fewer menus, faster access, and more time spent actually flying. But moving to MSFS 2024 wasn’t a simple port, according to Parallel 42. It required a complete rebuild to adapt to fundamental changes under the hood.
The result is a version of Flow that is still recognisable and will be familiar if you owned and used the product in MSFS 2020. The ‘Wheel’ is an intuitive organisation of tools and features, and a workflow that adapts to the pilot rather than the other way around, all of which can be found in Flow Essentials. Flow Pro brings back advanced scripting and community-driven widgets, alongside the essential tools for a more advanced experience.
One point to note: Flow (Essentials and Pro) for MSFS 2024 is currently PC-only. The tech powering Flow needs system-level access that simply isn’t available on Xbox platforms right now.
Existing owners can upgrade for $2.00 USD for a limited time (until Jun 5, 2026, and using code FLOW24P for Pro // FLOW24E for Essentials). Otherwise, Flow Essentials will cost $20.00 USD, and Flow Pro will cost $30.00 USD.
