Following a bunch of sneak peeks earlier this week, Parallel 42 has confirmed that they are working on a Super Patriot Mark II for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Confirmed earlier today in a blog post, Parallel 42 said that they are returning to aircraft development to bring the iconic Super Patriot Mark II to Microsoft Flight Simulator on both PC and Xbox in the future.
Parallel 42 are spending plenty of time with the plane in a very hands-on fashion in order to get the most authentic looking, sounding and flying rendition of the plane possible. They have spent a whole week in Bentonville, Arkansas with the mission of the trip capturing important aircraft data, a complete sound set, and 3D scans. This will be the first of many trips, with future ones capturing flight model and also scouting scenery.

Parallel 42 is working very closely with Patriot Aircraft to develop the plane, really solidifying their partnership in this development. On their blog, Parallel 42 said, “While we fell in love with the aircraft, we also fell in love with the team behind it. It was instantly a family vibe. Watching Don and Ron share all the hand-crafted details and engineering with Keven while I listened to Trevor and Zak convey the feeling you get in this aircraft meant everything to me.”
Edson continued, “In partnership with Patriot Aircraft USA, we’re going to build an experience. Like with everything we do, we’ll push the boundaries of what can be done, and you’ll feel what this team puts their heart and soul into and where their pride comes from.”
The Super Patriot Mark II is an advanced ultralight aircraft designed for high performance. It can cruise at 135mph, and can be equipped with a 197HP constant prop, providing impressive performance. To set some expectations, the Super Patriot Mark II is still very much in the early days of development. Therefore, we do not expect to see any progress from Parallel 42 in the near term as they work on this unique aircraft. Of course, there will be releases between now and the Super Patriot II, but the team wanted to solidify their commitment to the plane to the community.
Whilst it may be radio silence from the team in the meantime, we know we will see some behind the scene content in the near future. And as usual, you can expect FSElite to keep you updated moving forward.
