Only shown off in its entirety a few days ago, but Orbx has already released TrueEarth US Oregon for X-Plane 11. The large region is the second in the TrueEarth series after Washington.
As per our previous post, the state of Oregon features a wide variety of terrain to see and explore. From build-up towns and cities and huge forests to the mountainous region of the west and dry deserts. The Orbx team has built TrueEarth US Oregon with 10m Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and LiDAR data, some of the highest quality you can currently obtain. As with other TrueEarth packages, the product contains hand-corrected and sharpened aerial imagery throughout and has spent a lot of time focusing on water masking.
Further to the terrain, TrueEarth US Oregon also features millions of accurately placed buildings, trees and other objects for those that enjoy seeing the virtual world low and slow. All of the points of interest have been designed with PBR giving a realistic effect. Also included in the product is a CityScape of Portland, giving a detailed rendition of the city in X-Plane 11. Other enhanced cities include Eugene, Corvallis and Salem.
Both the SD and HD versions are now available to buy. The HD version of TrueEarth US Orgeon costs AUD $64.95 (approx US$44.05 | €39,73 | £36.35) includes the SD version, along with high resolution imagery and details. The HD version takes up 225GB of data on your storage device.
The SD version of TrueEarth US Oregon costs less at AUD $54.95 (approx US$37.27 | €33,61 | £30.75). It contains the same coverage area, just uses 2.4m/pixel (ZL16) sharpened orthoimagery and takes 63GB disk space. You can buy it on Orbx’s website.
