Orbx developer Matteo Veneziani has taken to the Orbx forums to go into detail regarding his latest airport: Olbia Smeralda Airport. The Italian airport is the first for the region for Orbx. The airport will be coming exclusively to Prepar3D V4 and will include a range of features and functionality to create the coastal airport. Matteo will be taking full advantage of the simulator to create a breathtaking experience.

The airport itself sees immense traffic considering its footprint. Over 4.5 million passengers pass the terminal doors per year from destinations the world over. Those include London, Rome, Berlin and beyond. It also sees plenty of general and business aviation travel.
The scenery itself has been modelled to the highest degree. Areas such as the harbours, local towns and more have been modelled to ensure that the scenic approach is on full display. Helicopter fans will also enjoy the include heliports scattered around the airport and beyond.
The airport will also be rendered in high quality. Using HD 30cm/px textures, in-depth modelling and also SODE, there will be a lot to see and explore with the region. This is without forgetting the dozens of POIs modelled across the location.
No release date or price has been set, but the previews give a great impression on how development is going and the quality to expect.
