Orbx has released their first brand new Australian scenery in some time, with YBCG Gold Coast being released today.
The Gold Coast is located in the south of the Australian state of Queensland, and recently the city hosted the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The airport serves domestic flights from all over Australia and international flights to and from Asia.
Geographically, the airport sits about as far south as it possibly can, with the airport footprint technically sitting partially in the neighbouring state of New South Wales.
Orbx describes the airport as a “highly detailed, accurate representation of YBCG with new apron and taxiway” – this new apron and taxiway is one that was completed just prior to the above mentioned Commonwealth Games earlier this year.
Not only do you get YBCG in this package, Southport YSPT is also included. Ground textures are 15cm/px throughout, with YSPT gaining higher resolution at 7cm/px. Additionally, Southport also includes sloped taxiways and an elevated parking lot.
At night, the Gold Coast is lit up with P3D’s dynamic lighting (v4 only), and the ground is covered with realistic specular effects.
Of course, this scenery will be best viewed when installed alongside Orbx’s recently released CityScene Gold Coast and FTX Australia.
YBCG Gold Coast is available now from FTX Central and Orbx Direct for AUD $32.95.
