Just a few days after their announcement, Orbx has now released Unalaska Airport (PADU) for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Unalaska Airport (also known as Dutch Harbor) is a small airport on Amaknak Island located in the Aleutian Islands off the coast of Alaska. In 2002 the airport was renamed “Tom Madsen Airport” in memory of a bush pilot who was sadly killed in an aeroplane accident. The airport has a short 4,500ft runway bordered by open water on one side and a large hill on the other, both ends of the runway drop off into the ocean making the approach and landing a challenging experience. Unalaska sees regular passenger services with Ravn Alaska into Anchorage and services from Grant Aviation into smaller remote communities. The airport also sees regular cargo runs with Alaska Central Express.
Orbx developer Matteo Venanziani is the creator of this scenic airport, with his other talented creations being Burbank, Skiathos and Van Nuys. Matteo has not only modelled the airport in high detail but also the entire city, harbours and surrounding landmarks making this product come to life.
You can purchase Unalaska airport from Orbx Direct for $24.93 AUD (approximately US$15.94 | €15,96 | £13.77). Owners of the Orbx Alaska Mesh will also receive a 20% discount.
