After announcing their latest Australian scenery last week, Orbx has now released Launceston Airport for MSFS.
Launceston Airport (YMLT/LST) is a regional airport located just outside the city of Launceston and is the second busiest airport in Tasmania. During World War II, the airport was operated by the Royal Australian Air Force and underwent a major redevelopment in 1962 in order to accommodate the new, larger passenger jets of the time. In 2009, the airport’s terminal underwent another expansion project to meet growing passenger demand. Today, the airport is served by Jetstar, Qantas, Virgin Australia, and Sharp Airlines.
Veteran developer Ken Hall, a native of Tasmania, spearheaded Orbx’s Launceston scenery. As a result, he could gain exclusive access to the actual airport and incorporate a plethora of details. Like all Orbx products, Launceston Airport features PBR textures and highly detailed airport objects to fully immerse flight simmers into the airport.
You can purchase Orbx’s Launceston Airport scenery directly from their website for $24.64 AUD (approximately US$17.15 | €15,82 | £13.85). Orbx is also running a promotion where you will receive 2x the amount of Orbs if purchased before January 23rd at 23:00z.
