Orbx has released Catalina Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Developed by Tim Harris and Ken Hall, this is a totally rebuild of the original airport released by the duo. Known for its stunning surroundings and scenic views, Catalina Island is a small little piece of heaven just off of the coast of California. It’s also a dream for aviators thanks to its great approach and numerous places to visit around the island. The airport was built by the Wrigley family of Chicago and enabled aircraft to land on the island.
The new buildings have higher texture resolution and made using PBR materials. Also included are detailed ortho imagery for the island and Avalon Harbour area making those flights even more realistic. The pair has also included new 3D people across the island and new points of interest, including the Casino Ballroom, Pebbly Beach, and a detailed rendition of Avalon Bay.
