Another airport in the Motor City area is now available in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.
KDET Detroit Coleman A. Young International sits a few miles outside of the city of Detroit and features a single 5,092 ft (1552m) long runway. It’s developed by Massimiliano Addante, a seasoned scenery artist who’s contributed to projects like FSDreamteam’s Basel Calais Dunkerque.
Pilots can expect a unique blend of historical charm and challenging, precision-focused operations. From tight visual approaches to managing private jets at the Chrysler facility, this scenery brings something for all kinds of pilots.
The scenery features fully-modeled interiors for the control tower and historic terminal building, custom modeled ILS and localizer hardware, precise night illumination, and a carefully crafted AFCAD that reflects real-world layouts. However, the detail doesn’t come at the expense of performance. All models in the field include 4-10 LODs, and the scenery has been optimized for both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024.
