Orbx previewed a range of screenshots for the upcoming Netherlands TrueEarth for Aerofly FS 2 recently. The screenshots themselves looked impressive thanks to the use of new technology and the power of the simulator itself. Static images are a great way to see how something looks, but the important thing for simmers is the performance. Fortunately for us John Dow from Orbx gave insight into how the simulator performs with the scenery.
The sub-10 minute video demonstrates the high frame rates that Aerofly FS 2 can achieve, whilst retaining high levels of detail. John added that “the only stutters you’ll see in this video are lags caused by the video recording program, not in the sim itself.”
For those wondering, the video was captured at a 4K resolution using a computer that holds a i7 4790K @ 4.5GHz and a GTX1080 graphics card.
