Returning to their roots, ORBX recently announced on their official forums that their updated rendition of Brisbane International Airport (YBBN) for Prepar3D is rapidly approaching release.
Brisbane International Airport (YBBN) is a major international airport located on the Australian mainland’s eastern coast. It is the main gateway to the city of Brisbane and the state of Queensland. Besides being a hub for Qantas and Virgin Australia, the airport also sees many foreign carriers operate from its grounds, including flights operated by Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong and Air Calin to Noumea.
The airport is also home to the Kingsford Smith Memorial which houses the “Southern Cross,” a Fokker F.VIIb/3m biplane flown by Australian aviators Charles Kingsford Smith, Charles Ulm, Harry Lyon, and James Warner on the first-ever trans-Pacific flight from Australia to the U.S.
Taking to their forums recently, ORBX announced that their revamped version of Brisbane International Airport (YBBN) is close to being released. In addition to providing numerous new previews showing off the upcoming product, the developer has indicated that the scenery will come with many new features, including an up-to-date airport layout that contains the recently inaugurated new parallel runway 01L/19R, extensively-used PBR textures, as well as color-corrected 30cm/pixel orthoimagery surrounding the airport, to name but just a few.
The developer finally indicates that existing owners of the developer’s aging Brisbane International Airport V1 scenery will benefit from a 50% discount should they decide to purchase the updated version of the airport upon release. This discount will also be applicable should one want to buy the developer’s MSFS rendition of the airport, set for a release at a later point in time.
