It has felt like a little while since we last heard of Orbx announcing a new airport, but today, they have taken to the forums to announce that very soon West Virginia Airport will be released for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The airport is more commonly known as Yeager International Airport (KCRW) and was first opened in 1947. Today, it serves many domestic airlines such as American, Delta, United and Spirit. It has a relatively short runway (just over 6,300ft), meaning it is somewhat limited in terms of where aircraft can fly. Those looking for a bit of a challenge will appreciate the flattened mountain terrain as it makes it a hard airport to approach.

Orbx is promising that the airport will include a range of features, including high-quality PBR texturing, dynamic night lighting and custom jetways. The team has also made sure that the terminal interior is nicely modelled and other areas around the airport are recreated in rich detail.
No word on a release date yet, but the product page is live and waiting for Orbx to press the release button. We’ll report back once it’s ready to be downloaded. You can also view a bunch more screenshots over on the forums.
