In what will likely be one of the last releases from Orbx before the end of the year, the development team has announced TrueEarth Canary Islands will release for X-Plane on December 26th 2020.
The Archipelago of islands located off the coast of Africa is owned by Spain and sees tourists from Europe and beyond escape to the islands in search of sun. Each of the nine islands have their own charm and character which has been recreated using the TrueEarth technology from Orbx.
As with other Orbx TrueEarth products, the scenery collection will include millions of accurately placed trees and buildings sat on top of carefully crafted aerial imagery. The imagery has been colour corrected and autogen has been made specifically to represent the Spanish vibes of the building on the various islands.
In addition to the complete coverage for all nine islands, La Palma Airport (GCLA) will be included free of charge as part of the TrueEarth package. Described as “Orbx payware quality,” the airport will feature full PBR material texturing, SAM jetways and custom mesh to blend seamlessly with the island itself.
Orbx plan on releasing TrueEarth Canary Islands for X-Plane 11 on December 26th 2020 with a 3-day 20% introductory discount. The exact pricing has yet to be confirmed at this time.
For now, check out the collection of screenshots shared by Orbx (with more on their forums). We’ll be sure to update you once the scenery package has been released.
