Orbx Announces Three Airports for X-Plane 11

Orbx’s John Venema announced three new airports for X-Plane 11 on the Orbx Forums. The three airports for TrueEarth Washington and Oregon are KORS Orcas Island for Washington and both 7S3 Stark’s Twin Oaks Airpark and WA79 Walter Sutton’s Airstrip for Oregon.

7S3 Stark’s Twin Oaks Airpark

Stark’s Twin Oaks Airpark is located near Portland, Oregon and is perfectly located for sightseeing expeditions in the Pacific Northwest. Included with the scenery is a large area of 30cm/pixel aerial photoreal terrain that includes various orchards, small farms, and Alpaca ranches. A glacier rock quarry just to the southwest of the airport is a must see for pilots flying in the area. Starks’ house, garage, and two of the hangars are on a hill overlooking the field and have been created with the utmost attention to detail. The airport is fully integrated into TrueEarth US Oregon and includes custom mesh edits to recreate the famous slope between the Stark’s house and the apron.

  • Ground imagery at 30cm per pixel
  • Custom X-Plane mesh
  • True multiple elevation field
  • Integrated with TrueEarth US Oregon

WA79 Walter Sutton’s Private Strip

Just north of Portland, Oregon in a rural valley is the grass strip of Walter Sutton’s private airfield. WA79 is fully integrated into TrueEarth US Oregon and features new unique vegetation around the airstrip. Walter Sutton’s Private Strip offers accurate modeling, the general store, the old abandoned rail works named ‘Tum Tum’, and a unique cone shaped hill aligned with the runway.  Also included is a bonus airstrip “Walter Musa’s”.

  • 60/15cm per pixel ground imagery
  • Fully modeled farm and airstrip
  • Town buildings and other points of interest
  • Large coverage of photoreal area
  • Unique new 3D vegetation
  • Integrated with TrueEarth US Oregon

KORS Orcas Island Airport

Located in the San Juan Islands is Orcas Island Airport. This version of Orcas Island Airport features animated birdlife and orcas, old watchtowers, and many more details throughout the entire island. Orcas Island Airport is fully integrated with TrueEarth US Washington and features new unique vegetation around the airport.

  • 15/30cm per pixel ground imagery
  • Modeled airport and village
  • Ground poly runway, aprons and lights
  • San Juan Islands
  • Large coverage of photoreal area
  • Watermasks for the shores and rivers
  • POIs across Orcas Island

My love for everything flightsim started back on FSX in 2007. I can be found flying the 737 almost every night all over the US on Volanta!
