Orbx has announced they are developing Split Airport (LDSP) for Prepar3D v4 and above. After a stint of airports for Microsoft Flight Simulator, the scenery developers are back on Prepar3D developing a brand new European airport.
Situated in the Adriatic Sea, Split Airport is one of the largest in Croatia. The sun-drenched destination often sees plenty of traffic during the summer months with airlines from across Europe visiting. The challenging approach and stunning visuals along the coast certainly make this an exciting destination in your narrow-body aircraft.
The airport is being developed by the Havant Orbx team and includes a number of features that have made is an accurate depiction of the airport. Everything in the scenery comes with PBR material and brought to life with dynamic lighting and high definition modelling. The scenery comes with 5m mesh so that it blends in with the nearby terrain well, along with over 60km2 of seasonal photoreal imagery. Alongside that, Orbx has included a number of objects such as local shops and hotels to complete the airport experience.
Orbx hasn’t confirmed a release but the previews certainly indicate it could be released soon. Stay tuned to FSElite and we’ll keep you updated. Be sure to check out the forums for even more previews of the airport in action.
