Orbx has today announced that they will be bringing their Key West International Airport (KEYW) to Microsoft Flight Simulator. The airport located in southern Florida has a short 5,076ft runway but does bring with it stunning views along the beaches and local resorted. A number of airlines frequent the airport to destinations across the US. This includes American Airlines to Dallas and Chicago, whilst Delta frequents the airport from Atlanta and New York. The airport also sees a variety of private jets and general aviation pilots touchdown on the short runway.
As with other Orbx airports, the product will feature full 3D modelling, PBR texturing and a range of custom details specifically designed for the airport. In addition, a number of custom ground service equipment models will be included as well as integrating some of the standard animated airport workers. It was also said that a number of points of interest will be included in the immediate area of the airport to blend the airport in with the default scenery.
A release is due “very soon” and we’ll let you know once it has been made available. In the meantime, you can visit the forums for even more screenshots of Key West International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
In other news, Orbx shared their 2021 roadmap, which included a huge range of landmarks products for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It also featured a list of airports coming to other platforms such as X-Plane 11 and Prepar3D, all of which you can read about here.
