Just moments ago Orbx announced their latest Norwegian airport. Hammerfest. Considered the most northern city in the world, absolutely beautiful and with a surprisingly busy (3th busiest in the country) airport with people using it for “regular” travel as well as travelling to and from work by helicopter.
We’ve come to expect it from Orbx, but again: the details on this airport will be astonishing. The developer, Finni Hansen, has given the airport full interior modelling, seasonal textures, custom effects, a curved runway (!!!) and incredibly high resolution textures for the best amount of detail. Not only will this scenery give you a beautiful airport to fly to, but the entire city and surrounding area have been modelled. If you’re not too busy flying (with your Dash-8 that’s gonna be hard) this will give you something to look at on every approach or departure to and from this airport.
There isn’t anything known about the supporting platforms, but we assume it will be available for both FSX and Prepar3d. We’re also expecting Orbx Norway (region) to be required, much like with previous Norwegian airports. We don’t have a release date yet, but with the developer saying it would enter beta testing this week we can’t imagine it being too far from release. You can check out the screenshots below or the original post over here for an impression of this upcoming scenery.
UPDATE: Orbx seem to have pulled the announcement down. We have reached out to them for a comment.
