In a press release sent over to us moments ago, Orbx and Aerosoft are partnering up to offer the distribution of select products to the community. This means that select Aerosoft products will be sold on OrbxDirect and select Orbx products will be sold through Aerosoft. It will also mean that customers can take advantage of Orbx Central download products and also the upcoming Aerosoft One downloader.
Winfried Diekmann, Aerosoft’s CEO, said: “A great partnership – both Aerosoft and Orbx are very well known brands in the flight simulation industry, and both care greatly about high quality and customer satisfaction. Together we can offer our respective customers a great variety of interesting products.”
Anna Cicognani, Orbx’s CEO, said: “We are very excited to start this partnership with Aerosoft. Orbx has been developing high-quality products for the major flight sim platforms for many years, and we are proud our two Companies – which share a lot of history – can offer flight simmers some of the best products from our respective catalogues.”
Initially, 15 products from both companies will be made available through each other’s platforms. That initial list of products was not disclosed at the time but we have reached out to Orbx to find out more. The press release also says that more products will be added in the future.
Another unanswered question at this point is whether license transfers will happen. We have, again, reached out to find out more information and will update this article once we get a response.
