Coming not long after their Batsfjord Airport release, Nordic scenery developer Onfinal Studio has recently provided MSFS users with their detailed rendition of Berlevåg Airport (ENBV), realeasing the scenery via the simMarket online store.
Much like the developers’ previous releases, Berlevåg Airport is a small regional airport serving the residents of the Berlevåg Municipality and is located in the Troms og Finnmark county in Norway. The airport began construction in August of 1943 and was initially meant to serve as a military installation during WWII. Following the cessation of hostilities, the airfield, due to extensively sustained damage, could only be returned to service during the early 1970s.
Today, the airport sees only sparse commercial services. The only civilian operator flying in and out of the field is Widerøe, serving regional destinations from the airport using their DeHavilland Canada Dash 8-Q100 airframes. A peculiar feature of the airport today comes in the form of its SCAT-I GPS-based approach system. The system is based on differential GPS and was exclusively developed by Avinor, the operator of some Norwegian airports, including Berlevåg.
Renowned Nordic scenery developer, Onfinal Studio, has recently provided MSFS users with their accurate depiction of this interesting Nordic airfield. The developer indicates that the product comes included with a highly-detailed 3D replication of the airport’s terminal building, PBR texture work, and a corrected and improved ground and parking layout.
This product can be obtained via the developers’ simMarket online store page and will set you back €8.00 E.x. VAT.
