NZA Simulations, known for their highly immersive renditions of iconic Australian and New Zealand airfields, have recently provided keen MSFS fans with previews of their upcoming Hobart Airport package, set to include both Hobart International Airport (YMHB) and Cambridge Aerodrome (YCBG).
Historically, aviation took roots in Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania, with the historic Cambridge Aerodrome (YCBG) opening back in the year 1920. The airfield continued to serve as Tasmania’s main port of entry for close to three decades but eventually was replaced by the current Hobart International Airport (YMHB) in 1956.
Only located a few kilometers away from this historic airfield is the more modern Hobart International Airport (YMHB), which has since replaced Cambridge Aerodrom as Tasmania’s main gateway. Although considered an international facility, the airport mainly sees domestic traffic coming in the form of Qantas, and Jetstar operated flights to destinations along Australia’s southern coast. Interestingly, due to its southerly location, the airport sees frequent visits by Skytraders’s Airbus A319, which operates regular services from Hobart International to McMurdo Station in Antarctica on behalf of the Australian Antarctic Division.
NZA Simulations has now taken to both Facebook and the FSDevelopers forum to share new previews of their upcoming Hobart Airport package, set to bring both airfields to MSFS. Although not providing any details on a detailed feature list, the screenshots mostly speak for themselves, showcasing the significant amount of effort and attention to detail that the developer has put into faithfully recreating these iconic airfields. As some of the showcase, NZA Simulations even went so far as to recreate the interior of multiple airport buildings in a detail-rich manner.
Although neither a release date nor a pricing schedule has been announced, judging by the screenshots, progress is swift, and a release should not be too far off in the future.
