You’ve probably heard the term GDPR for a few weeks now. It’s a pretty huge deal for pretty much any website, app service and more for many reasons. The regulation will come into effect as of May 25th 2018, but we want to be a little prepared so are introducing some new privacy measures, more transparent privacy information, and how we use your data at FSElite. The world of flight sim has been a bit shaken in recent months regarding privacy, so we want to be as clear as possible with our community. It’s one of our Community Charter promises, after all.

We have made changes to our privacy policy and you need to accept them to continue using FSElite. We have implemented information request and erasure. We use first and third-parties to collect data – and have implemented several safeguards to keep your data safe.

Our Privacy Policy
Our privacy policy will be changing and will come into effect as of today (May 24th 2018). By continuing to use FSElite after this date, you will be agreeing to these terms. If you disagree with them, then you won’t be able to continue to use FSElite services.

First and Third-Party Services
We use a variety of third-party services to improve and enhance your experience on FSElite. We may use this data to contact you if you win a contest or we may use this data to improve your advertising experience.
We have limited control over how we use these products and services. We will always do our best to ensure that our privacy policy is in line with that of our third-party apps, and also ensure that the services we use are GDPR compliant and benefit the user experience. It should be noted that we are not liable for third-party policy’s, nor their compliance to the legislation of data.
By using FSElite, you also agree to the privacy terms set out by the following providers.
Provider: Google
Product: Google Analytics and Adsense
What data it may collect: Collect personal identifiable information such as IP address, location, gender, age, language of machine, type of device, browser in use, number of visits to the website and how you interact with the website.
We have anonymised IP addresses, enabled support for user opt-out and have enabled “exclude tracking for users sending Do Not Track Headers”.
How we use it: Better understanding of our community’s demographic, areas we can expand our reach, find areas to improve the website functionality. We never use this information to contact anyone, nor do we sell the specific information to third-parties.
We use non-personal identifiable information to build documentation to supply to third-parties (developers and publishers) and potential advertisers to demonstrate our growth, reach and demographics.
Adsense will use this data (including cookie data) to deliver more relevant ads for you.
Who has access: The directors of FSElite have access it (limited)
How it’s stored: Secure through Google’s servers. Behind 2-step authentication.
Data retention: 26 months.

Provider: OneSignal
Product: Push Notification System
What data it may collect: Collect personal identifiable information such as IP address, location, gender, age, language of machine, type of device, browser in use, number of visits to the website and how you interact with the website.
How we use it: Push content updates directly to your mobile, desktop, web-browser and other smart devices. We only push updates upon publication or if there’s a significant change to already-published content.
We may, on occasion, use this service to send you relevant advertisements based on products we feel you may like. This information is based on current simulator trends, new products or based on data such as location, age range, etc.
This service, was OPT-IN from day 1.
Who has access: Data controller
How it’s stored: Secure through OneSignal database. This is behind 2-step authentication.
Data retention: Indefinite – until unsubscribed. This is to continue delivering relevant content to you directly.

Provider: Rewards Fuel
What data it may collect: Collect personal identifiable information such as first name, last name, email address, IP address, location, gender, age, language of machine, type of device, browser in use, number of visits to the website and how you interact with the website.
How we use it: During regular raffles, we require your name and email address to ensure that those winning are legitimate people. Once the raffle has ended, Rewards Fuel automatically picks winners from those with correct entries. Once picked, we then will email those who have been chosen. Upon successful delivery of the product / prize, we then keep your details on record for 12 months for any complaints. This data is never shared to developers or publishers. However, we may ask for your email / username on specific accounts (example: SimMarket) to allow the developer / publisher to add the product to your account. If this is the case, you will have to agree to their privacy policy and FSElite are not liable for that data.
We are only allowed to collate email addresses for newsletter purposes through very specific means and must give all users an ‘opt-in’ option. As of May 25th 2018, none of our contests have used this method, nor do we collect email addresses from contests for newsletter purposes.

Data retention: 12 months. In case of complaints.
How to opt-in: Sign up to a contest

Provider: Facebook, Twitter and Google Single Sign-Up (Comment section)
What Data it may collect: Collect personal identifiable information such as first name, last name, email address, IP address and profile picture from the social network you choose to sign-up / login.
How we use it: The information is used to create an account at FSElite for the commenting system. It will publicly display your full name and profile picture. It will also include a link to your social profile page.
How the data is stored: Data such as email address and IP address is collected but stored on the FSElite servers, which is only accessible to admin users. FSElite is protected by SSL certificates and 2-step authentication.
Who has access: FSElite admin account holders (limited number of people)
Data retention: Indefinite – until unsubscribed. This is to continue delivering relevant content to you directly.

Communication
Communication is incredibly important to us. It allows us to share the latest information with you and for you to reach us with any feedback.
We offer you several opportunities to communicate with FSElite. Via social platforms, commenting system and our contact forms.
Contact forms
When you reach out to us via our contact form, you agree to supply us with the following data:
- Name
- Email address
We use this data to make sure we can communicate clearly with you and be sure to be able to give you a response. We will retain these details on our secure web email service.
These details will not be used for any marketing or newsletters. We will only contact you regarding the specific request.
Information Request or Erasure
We respect that our EU visitors may want to see what information we currently hold on file about them, or to delete their user data.
Anyone who wishes to view their data collected by FSElite services (commenting system) can do so by emailing privacy@fselite.net. Third party data can be collected by contacting those respected companies listed above.
Anyone who wishes to exercise their right of erasure can email privacy@fselite.net. This is data held on you by FSElite. Third parties will need to be contacted.
We will first verify you by asking you to click on an email link shortly delivered once emailing the above address. Once done, we will then follow up appropriately with your request.
