Boundless has sent us some brand new previews for their upcoming release of Stansted Airport for X-Plane 11. The new previews highlight various terminal areas and also how night lighting has been implemented with the product.
Stansted Airport (EGSS) is one of the UK’s busiest airports with Ryanair making it their largest hub flying to over 100 destinations over Europe and North Africa. Along with high numbers of passenger traffic, Stansted is the largest cargo hub close to London, having moved over 250,000 tonnes of freight in 2017 as well as being able to handle the AN-225 Mriya. Stansted is also popular with private aircraft operators from Gulfstreams to 747s such as Air Force One despite being located 40 miles north of the city centre, although this only takes 15 minutes in Marine One.
Boundless has confirmed that Stansted Airport will come packed with goodies to please X-Plane pilots. As well as the detailed texturing, the scenery will feature animated ground vehicles and trains, custom HD trees and forestry in the nearby area and also support for Traffic Global. Furthermore, the airport will come equipped with terminal interiors, custom ortho and will be compatible with Orbx’s TrueEarth GB South.
In addition to the new previews, Boundless has informed us that they are looking for new developers to join their growing team. The new role is a paid position and is someone who has some experience using WED (World Editor) for X-Plane 11 and also the ability to make custom buildings for X-Plane. As well as assisting with development, Boundless say that the role will involve testing airports as well as time to learn new development skills and tools. The person who would join the team would be able to work at their own pace and also benefit from other perks offered by Boundless. If you’re interested, you can contact the team directly through their website.
Stansted Airport for X-Plane 11 will release for an expected price of £18.99 in various stores come early March on the iniBuilds store and then the Boundless Store. Other sites will be then selling the airport come April and will cost more than purchases made from Boundless or the iniBuilds store.
