Orbx has shared a final development update on Matteo Veneziani’s upcoming Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport scenery, confirming that the project is now nearing completion following a longer-than-expected development cycle.
According to the team, the scale of the airport, earlier terrain mesh issues, and the process of converting assets to native Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 standards all contributed to delays. Those issues have now been resolved, with development entering its final stages.

The remaining work includes placing final 3D details such as ground service equipment, vehicles, trees, and people, along with implementing custom taxiway signage, approach and taxiway lighting, and completing remaining animations. We also learned that there will be a custom GSX profile being made specific for the airport.
Originally targeting a release before Easter, the developer has now shifted the launch window to mid-April to allow for additional polish. Orbx says the project represents a new benchmark for future work, and also confirmed that an X-Plane 12 version of the scenery is in development.
Stay tuned and we’ll be sure to bring you more as we get it.
