Aerosoft’s Mathijs Kok has taken to the company’s forums to share some new screenshots of the upcoming A330 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The screenshots, Kok revealed, were prepared as illustrations for an upcoming interview with Norman and Caleb from Blu XPerience. They show the modelling of the plane’s cockpit including areas such as the pedestal, PFD (in a powered down state), overhead panel, as well as the new aircraft’s EFB.

The forum post also included some limited detail about the manual which will ship with the aircraft upon release. The e-Manual, as Aerosoft are dubbing it, contains checklists, flows, and detailed breakdowns of the aircraft’s systems. Simmers who are already familiar with the A320 aircraft family should have little difficulty adjusting to the 330, as the cockpit is very similar to that of the smaller medium haul aircraft.

In one of the images, a cockpit window appears to be open as noticed by Aerosoft Forum user Frap 99. Kok confirmed in a reply that the windows on the A330 will be openable, and quote “you need to know how to close them…”

Finally, when asked about a release date for the plane, Kok was reluctant to be tied to any specifics but would go as far as to say that “without any guarantees”, it was planned for release in the next 1 to 4 months. Regarding an Xbox version of the plane, Kok reiterated Aerosoft’s intention to release the A330 for console, and didn’t specify between the two versions, which might suggest the intention is to release on both platforms simultaneously.

Though simmers are definitely excited for this new plane to hit the market, Aerosoft has recently run into criticism from some simmers following the removal of their Twin Otter from sale, with the company stating they intend to re-release the plane down the line as “part of another project”.
