Over on Facebook, Navigraph has given us a first glimpse of what they are working on for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Earlier this month, Navigraph CEO Magnus Axholt explained in detail what the developer’s plans for the new flight simulator are. He explained that users will shortly be able to use the Jeppesen data provided through Navigraph to use inside their simulator, instead of the default data provided by Microsoft. There might be several reasons for wanting to do this, such as having a more consistent data-set and experience, simply having a more detailed and comprehensive dataset or easier integration for 3rd party add-ons that already use Navigraph data that is available amongst others. In the post shared on Facebook, we seem to be getting our first look at this updated data in the sim. The interface has been updated with a departure and approach selection at the respective airports, and the map is showing an ILS approach into the arrival airport (Yakima Air Terminal, KYKM in this example). The team did not share anything about how far out the release of this new dataset for MSFS is, but they did share that people can apply to become a beta tester of it over on their website.
