Navigraph’s Traffic Sector Overlays, announced back in June at FSExpo, is now available for Navigraph Charts. The feature is released in beta, and will allow you to see real-time traffic and ATC coverage from VATSIM and IVAO, the two largest online traffic networks.
Via a new panel in Navigraph’s Charts application you can now show the selected traffic and/or ATC coverage for your network or choice. By selecting an aircraft on the map itself, you can see details about its flight, such as departure and arrival airport, callsign and aircraft, route, and flight metrics such as altitude and speed.
The ATC coverage feature on the other hand gives you an overview of all active ATC stations for a given airport or region, and you can quickly see what stations are staffed at your airport of choice, such as Tower, Delivery, Ground, and/or ATIS. The ATC coverage detail panel can also tell you which gates are currently occupied, allowing you to select a free gate before spawning into the simulator.
For more information on Navigraph’s latest feature, you can read the blog post with the original announcement. Or you can read a detailed “gate-to-gate” tutorial written by Navigraph’s Jason, telling you more about how he uses the new feature during a typical flight on his online network of choice.
Navigraph Charts Live Traffic and ATC Sectors are available right now in the Charts app on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and right in your browser. The feature is released in open beta, although Navigraph did not comment further on this. However, it should be expected that bugs and issues can occur during a beta period, which can be reported to Navigraph.
