In a recent blog post, the team at Navigraph revealed that the latest version of their Avionics Plugin now offers full support for the G1000 NXi. Now, IFR charts from Jeppesen’s Electronic Chart library, as well as Navigraph’s VFR and IFR maps, can be seamlessly integrated into the multifunction display (MFD) of G1000 NXi-equipped MSFS aircraft, closely mimicking the functions of the real-world units. In addition, the plugin allows users to view weather information (METARs) and load SimBrief flight plans directly into the G1000 NXi.
Navigraph-supported G1000 NXi aircraft include:
- Cirrus SR22
- Diamond Aircraft DA40NG
- Diamond Aircraft DA62
- Pilatus PC-6
- Textron Aviation Beechcraft Baron G58
- Textron Aviation Beechcraft Bonanza G36
- Textron Aviation Cessna 172 Skyhawk (G1000)
- Textron Aviation Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX
Previously, the Navigraph Avionics Plugin only supported charts and SimBrief integration in the G3000 and G5000 avionics suites utilized by the default TBM 930 and Cessna Citation Longitude (the Pro Line 21 system found in the CJ4 was also separately supported). However, Navigraph support has always been available for add-ons in which the developer chooses to integrate with the company’s technology directly, as was the case with Marwan Gharib’s HJet and the SF50 Vision Jet G2 from FlightFX.
While the Avionics Plugin is not directly available for Xbox, console-based users can still take advantage of Navigraph Charts and SimBrief integration when developers include it in their add-ons. And speaking of developer support, in their blog post, Navigraph revealed that the upcoming FSReborn Piper M500 for PC and Xbox will natively include the Avionics Plugin in its G1000 NXi.
To add G1000NXi charting capabilities through Navigraph, users will need to download the latest version of the G1000 Avionics Plugin through Navigraph Hub. From there, Naivgraph Charts users will be able to log into their Navigraph account through the code provided on-screen. Note that an active Navigraph Unlimited Subscription is required.
Navigraph has been on a roll lately adding functionality and utility to its product lineup. At this year’s FSExpo, the company unveiled real-time weather overlays for their Charts 8 app. Earlier this month, they announced additional enhancements to the Charts App to include in-flight telemetry, digital ATIS, and the ability to view your Simbrief OFP in the App.
