Navigraph say they are aiming to ‘bridge the gap between simulation and reality’ with the announcement of their upcoming Navigraph Academy, a virtual pilot training platform.
Set to arrive in 2025, the programme will include an e-learning catalogue, with training delivered by Navigraph’s real world pilot instructors, giving students the theoretical knowledge they need to apply within the simulator, with the ultimate goal of obtaining a virtual private pilot’s license.
The course, they say, is designed to be adaptable and applicable to simmers with various set-ups and skill bases. They write, ‘we prioritize your ability to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in class to your specific simulator environment… whether you’re using a high-end simulator with numerous peripherals or a basic setup, you can fully engage with the material and gain valuable insights.’
Accompanied by a wealth of video tutorials and presentations, the scheme looks set to be one of the most in-depth virtual pilot training platforms to date. The course’s aim, according to Navigraph, is to help bridge the gap between simulation and reality. They say, ‘By comparing theoretical principles with practical applications in aviation, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of flying both in the virtual world and in real life.’
