The world of Microsoft Flight Simulator hasn’t slowed down, even following the release of Sim Update 1. In the recent blog post on the official website, we learned that soon World Update 19 will be with us, along with a new live developer Q&A session, which will be looking ahead to Sim Update 2.
World Update 19: Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana
World Update 19: Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana will be released on Tuesday, March 11th 2025. This has been a long time coming for many in the flight simulation community and has been awaiting the new in-sim Marketplace to deliver it for the community.
Microsoft recognises that flight sim fans have been patiently waiting on the world update and the team hopes it will be worth it when it is made freely available next week.
Sim Update 2
Work on Sim Update 2 has been well underway for some time now, even with Sim Update 1 having only just passed onto Simmers in a public way. Whilst Sim Update 1 was fairly extensive and focused a lot on sim stability and performance following the launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Sim Update 2 is being described as “even bigger” than SU1.
We know that performance, VR, camera views, flight assist, and career mode improvements are all planned for Sim Update 2. Hopefully, we learn more on how this will be even bigger then SU1 during the next developer live Q&A session.
Developer Live Q&A for March
Microsoft and Asobo will once again be taking part in a developer livestream on March 14th 2025. In it, Jorg, Seb, and Martial will be discussing World Update 19, Sim Update 1, and more (hopefully more details on Sim Update 2).
You can tune in on the Microsoft Flight Simulator Twitch channel and also submit your questions ahead of time.
Note: our live stream re-cap post may be delayed due to us attending FSWeekend that same day.
