Microsoft published the first update in the Sim Update 6 Beta program since it was initially made available to the public earlier this month.
This brings the MSFS 2024 Sim Update 6 Beta to version 1.8.8.0. The bulk of the change log is centered around bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements, especially on the developer side. However, there are some important pilot facing changes.
Bush Trips from MSFS 2020 are now available in this beta build and can be accessed in the Activities menu. More Bush Trips will be added as time goes on.
MastLights have been added to a large number of generic airports, ranging in size from M to XXL, with automatic placement. This should improve night-time illumination at parking spots.
For Playstation 5 pilots, The Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas 4 is now functional again. On PlayStation 5, T.Flight Hotas 4 and T.Flight Hotas 5 (PS4 compatibility mode) default profiles have been adapted to the recently integrated Thrustmaster SDK. With this change in SDK, other Thrustmaster peripherals are now not read as T.Flight Hotas 4 anymore, but custom input profiles made before Sim Update 6 are no longer compatible.
Following community feedback, Microsoft fixed an issue where virtual reality controllers could display a “Controller disconnected” pop-up when they went into sleep mode.
Pilots now have a new default keybind to pause eye and head-tracking in this build, which is [Shift+Alt].
Other changes include fixes to the frame rate cap being ignored during initial boot, as well as a fix for date and time flight conditions resetting when returning to the main menu.

MSFS 2024 SU6 Beta 1.8.8.0 Developer Changes
The turbine engine simulation in MSFS 2024 now has the ability to incorporate a host of new, multi-dimensional performance tables. These sections are optional, and backwards compatibility is preserved.
A new max value for WASM Memory in SimObject Profiler was added, along with a mesh occluder debug, and a potential fix for the mouse disappearing unexpectedly while using DevMode.
Scenery Editor received fixes for scenery object shift between editor and built packages, frame rate issues, collisions not working for instanced objects, and a fix for the eye icon not hiding objects correctly.
Further changes include fixes to SimObject Editor, Visual Effects Editor, the SDK, SimVars, Exporter Blender, and Documentation.
