In a post on the Flythemaddog forums, Stefano from Leonardo Softhouse shared a new update covering the team’s work on Fly the Maddog: 20th Anniversary Edition.
Stefano began the post by highlighting that the fully native, MSFS 2024 variant of the 20th Anniversary Edition Maddog is getting close to release. With exception to a few changes required specifically to support the 2024 implementation, the vast majority of improvements, fixes, and new features included in the update will also be made available to MSFS 2020 customers of the 20th Anniversary Edition Maddogs.
Due to the adoption of the new native MSFS 2024 texture format, liveries created for previous Maddog versions will not be compatible out of the box, meaning repaint authors will be required to update their liveries in order for them to work in MSFS 2024.
In light of this, the Leonardo team added a number of official liveries specifically designed for the native MSFS 2024 release to provide pilots with choices out of the box.
For the MD-82 these include: China Southern, Swissair (Nutella), Swiss, Alitalia, ATI, Alisarda, Meridiana, JAL, European Air Charter, American Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Finnair, Scandinavian, Norwegian, Germanwings, Aeromexico, and Kulula.
For the MD-83 these include: InselAir, American, Alaska, Edelweiss, Blue Line, Avianca, and Spanair.
For the MD-88 these include: Iberia and several different Delta schemes including Widget, Ron Allen, Color in Motion, and Post-Merger.
All MSFS 2024-native variants will come with the same base Leonardo House livery, while N590AA and N991DL will be available for download through the manager.
