If you use racing simulators as well as flight simulation, you may know MOZA Racing for their host of quality force feedback racing equipment, but their wealth of knowledge and experience is now being put to good use in flight controls. MOZA has announced a suite of force feedback flight controls with high-standard build quality and authentic replication of the feel of flying the real thing.

MOZA Racing started back in 2012 when they designed, manufactured, and sold camera gimbals. In 2021, they used their wealth of experience in manufacturing, electric motor and chassis design, and force feedback, to become one of the leading racing control manufacturers for driving simulators with over 30 products on the market. They build a brand on the quality and wide scope of their products ranging from wheel bases, wheels, pedals and accessories. Noticing a gap in the flight simulation market, MOZA Racing has announced their first of many products at the Flight Simulation Expo in Las Vegas.

The AB9 Base

The AB9 stick base is built to enhance the virtual pilot experience by recreating the subtle and not so subtle feedback that connects them to the aircraft and environment. The base has a quiet and seamless design that minimises noise by using fan-less technology with a sealed design made from aviation grade aluminium which keeps the mechanisms inside free of dust and clogging. The base also encapsulates the latest in servo motors and force feedback developed through the years at MOZA with seven newton metres of torque which provides a strong snap on those harder landings and turbulence. The base also uses an advanced controller to encode the movements you make into high resolution inputs to ensure you have the most control even in the subtleties.

In terms of compatibility, the AB9 base is compatible with all third party flight sticks and optional accessories from MOZA with a smooth integration to their ‘inclusive ecosystem’ which is good news for those who currently own some bespoke sticks and grips. The base also has the ability to be mounted to desks, via a clamp or mount, or even onto a dedicated rig such as custom built cockpits with minimal space constraints.

The MH16 Flight Stick

The second item on the bill for MOZA is their MH16 Flight Stick. This Aluminium alloy constructed stick has an iconic fighter jet look and feet with the sturdiness and durability that matches the MH16 base. Users who fly multiple styles and types of aircraft will be able to customise their stick with 24 input signals and removable switches and buttons to ensure the best realism and customisability, all from one stick. Along with the base, this flight stick will be cross compatible with other third party products as well.

Throttle Quadrant

The third new product for the market from MOZA is their fighter jet style throttle quadrant with an extended panel which includes park brake, hook and jettison levers and more. Little detail is shared regarding the throttles but if the stick and base is anything to go by, the throttle quadrant will be of great quality and host a plethora of switches and inputs to ensure the best adaptable throttle platform for the fast jet flight simmer.

Rudder Pedals

Lastly, what would the lineup be without rudder pedals. MOZA has shared a few screenshots of their robust looking, all metal design which look to have a centre swivel motion, heel and toe mounts and plenty of variable springs to customise your experience.

Tying this all together is MOZA’s MCLS bridging software which allows full customisability and cross platform application including MSFS, X-Plane, DCS, War Thunder and more.

Whilst there has been no information regarding price or when the base or stick will be released, if the flight simulation products are released in line with MOZA’s Racing products, we could see force feedback input controls come to the flight simulator market at a reasonable price.
