MK Studios Provides Update on Helsinki, Rome, and Other Airport Projects

After a period of quiet development, MK Studios has shared a substantial progress update on several upcoming airports and simulator compatibility projects.

Leading the news, Helsinki Airport (EFHK) has officially entered beta testing, with release planned within the next 7–10 days. The developer also confirmed that the NDA will lift early next week, meaning new screenshots and livestreams are on the way.

Further north, a new version of Rovaniemi (EFRO) is in the works and scheduled for a December release, just in time for flights to Santa’s hometown. Meanwhile, Rome (LIRF) is moving into the next production phase, with model exports now underway and beta testing expected by the end of November.

Looking ahead, Vágar Airport (EKVG) is set to receive a brand-new version in January, featuring updated satellite imagery, refined terrain, enhanced POIs, and an improved apron layout with an extra parking stand. The team also revealed that Porto and Fuerteventura are both due for complete reworks in early 2026.

MK Studios closed its update with a request for reference photos of Keflavik Airport’s new terminal, as preparations for next year’s major update to Iceland’s main gateway continue.
