MK Studios contacted us during the festive period with a bunch of new and exciting news to share with the community. They are kicking off the year with some new previews for their upcoming Dusseldorf Airport, along with confirmation of their next US airport and roadmap for 2025.
Dusseldorf Previews
MK Studios first confirmed the announcement of Dusseldorf back in October. They have made steady progress on the airport since then and are sticking to their end of Q1 release for the airport. You can see some new previews of the airport product down below.
Confirmation of Seattle
Also in the email sent to us, MK Studios confirmed that the next US airport that they are working on is Seattle-Tacoa. There is no information or previews at this stage, the team wanted to say it would be “worth the wait”. Of course, we will be sure to give you the latest news on the Pacific Northwest hub once we get it.
Helsinki and Rome Rebooted
Both Helsinki and Rome will be getting ‘Rebooted’ editions in the near future. They were previously dubbed v2 released, but the new name will mean it’s clearer that these are all-new versions with improved data, textures, and modelling. They will come fully into focus following the release of both Dusseldorf and Seattle, and the team is asking for any support by way of pictures or data from locals.
MSFS 2024 Support
Finally, the team addressed Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 support. They continue to work on various compatibility issues, with both Montreal and Dublin getting new updates soon. The aim for MK Studios is to balance updating existing products and producing new ones. This isn’t easy as the simulator and the SDK continue to change and need more stability.
