MK-Studios Announces Roadmap for 2021

Following on from the release of Dublin Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator, developer MK-Studios has announced its roadmap for 2021. Taking to Facebook, Mateusz, CEO of MK-Studios, said that they have 12 airports releasing or being significantly updated. The releases will be a mix of Prepar3D and and Microsoft Flight Simulator.

This extensive roadmap includes previously announced airports such as Ponta Delgada and Rome Fiumicino, along with brand new ones including Cork Airport and Porto Airport. Here is the full scoop of airports being delivered by MK-Studios over the next 12-months.

Ponta Delgada (LPPD)

MK-Studios has said that most of the modelling is now done and they are working on the terrain. Right now, the team is working towards a Q1 2021 release. Coming to both P3D and MSFS.

Fuerteventura V2 (GCFV)

Work continues with the updated version of Fuerteventura, with the whole of the modelling work now complete. It was previously confirmed to be coming to Prepar3D, and MSFS. The expected release is Q1 2021.

Rome Fiumicino (LIRF)

Another previously announced airport continues to be developed by the team. Currently, the team predicts that modelling is “80% done” and we can expect a release in Q1/Q2 2021.

Rovaniemi (EFRO)

A new one announced from MK-Studios. Rovaniemi is the official home of Santa Claus in Lapland. We’ll have to wait until the second half of 2021 before we can touch down at Rovaniemi.

Sao Pedro (GVSV)

Cape Verde is a collection of islands just off of the West coast of South Africa. Cesária Évora Airport (GVSV) is the fourth biggest airport in the region with flights to locations such as Lisbon and Amsterdam. No timeframe was given, but is confirmed to be coming to both Prepar3D and Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Porto (LPPR)

MK-Studios visits Portugal again and this time heads to the city of Porto. Porto will only begin development once Rome has been released. No time frame was mentioned, but will be coming to both P3D and MSFS.

Cork (EICK)

Whilst Cork isn’t as big as Dublin, this Irish airport still hosts a number of popular routes domestically and around Europe. No time frame was mentioned. Expect this on both P3D and MSFS.

Palanga (EYPA)

Palanga International Airport in Lithuanian is a new country for MK-Studios to bring an airport to. This is a “side project” for the team to try out new techniques and no timeline was given.

Helsinki Airport (EFHK)

Following on from the release of Helsinki Airport for Prepar3D, the team will be bringing the airport to Microsoft Flight Simulator between Q1 and Q2 2021.

Lisbon Airport (LPPT)

Another Prepar3D release being ported to Microsoft Flight Simulator. This will come either in Q2 or Q3 of 2021.

Vagar (EKVG)

A new version of Vagar will be coming to Prepar3D v5 in January, with a Microsoft Flight Simulator version coming in the second half of 2021 once custom mesh is supported in the new sim.

So there you have it. The current roadmap and development schedule for MK-Studios over the next year (and possibly beyond). Clearly another busy year on the cards for the development team and as always, we’ll follow them through their dev cycle. In the mean time, you can read more about the recently released Dublin Airport (EIKN) for Microsoft Flight Simulator here.
