When we last shared a preview of the cockpit of Milviz’s upcoming SR-71 Blackbird, it was met with an extremely positive response that was completely unexpected on my part. Many said that they’d either didn’t know the project existed, or that they’d be buying it when it released. Today, just 17 days later, Milviz are back with another preview, this time of the external model with the aircraft inflight!
Do note that the model is an ever-changing work-in-progress, and that the materials and/or model haven’t been finalized yet.

In addition to the preview, Milviz also shared with us a bit of information on the project in response to a question posted in the comments. First, the obvious question in this day and age, will it be study level? Milviz replied, and I quote, “Super sim. Nothing like this has ever been done before. Not ever.” In addition, it was stated that the in-air refueling, which will be featured in the product if you didn’t already know, will be the hardest thing you’ve ever done.
With this being said, the aircraft really looks to be taking shape and we can’t wait to take to the skies cruising at 80,000 feet at Mach 3.5. CTP Eastbound, anyone?
