Miltech Simulations has shared more information on their upcoming CH47D for MSFS. The project was announced back in June, and these are the first previews the team has shared of the project since then.
The previews focus on the cockpit of the helicopter, showing the instrument panel, centre console, collective, overhead panel and more. The previews feature a lot of detail to the modelling and textures.
The team also gave an insight into what features we can expect to be included with this helicopter once it lands in our simulators. The CH47D will feature a fully modelled interior, exterior and cargo bay, all in high detail with high quality modelling and textures. The helicopter will also feature cargo loading capabilities, as well as the ability to sling load in the interior.
Systems-wise, the team states that their CH47D will be a “comprehensive, yet practical rendition of the real counterpart”. Essential systems have been modelled to “a great degree of depth”, while others will be visual only. The helicopter will also use an optional GPS unit. Also featured is a custom Advanced Flight Control System (AFCS).
Miltech Simulations states that the sounds have been recorded from a real CH-47 helicopter and will feature accurate and immersive sounds. The helicopter will include an EFB (visible in the previews), a mission pack requiring you to carry payloads from one place to another and 15 liveries.
Though the team is working on the CH47D variant, which remains the focus for now, they are also considering the more modern ‘F’ variant of the Chinook.
There is no ETA on this project at the moment, but the developer does state that the helicopter is in an advanced state and the team is currently focussing on “special features”, claiming it “won’t be long until it’s out”. Upon release, the CH47D will be available for PC at first, with the Marketplace and Xbox users following at a later time.
We’ll keep you up-to-date on further previews and developments on Miltech Simulations CH47D.
