The long-anticipated July development update from the Microsoft Flight Simulator team has been released. This update details a timeline on when we can expect new details on the SDK, when to expect the commencement of the Insider Program, and what each stage of August will bring.
While the team will be providing the release date for their Development Roadmap in the next few weeks, we did get a variety of information from the team.
Early to mid-August will see the Insider Program kick-off, and this will bring the first batch of content for Insider members. Included in this content will be an advanced preview of the Development Roadmap, in-sim content (clips captured from the build) as well as detailed information on the first preview build.
In mid to late August, the Development Roadmap will be released. This will include a Build Program Recruitment and Release timeline, information on the SDK and 3rd party content, as well as a UGC (?) Content update.
Late August will bring with it the kickoff of the Preview Build Program, a sign-up for public participation, as well as a preview of the next build details.
Finally, in September we should expect to hear about the pipeline for how the team will be providing an in-depth look at the product as well as the process for how they will be integrating the community in order to bring the product to launch.
That was all we got for now, but stay tuned to FSElite as we’ll endeavor to be the first to report any additional news or previews related to Microsoft’s new Flight Simulator.
