Microsoft has released Famous Flyer 13, introducing the Northrop T-38A Talon to Microsoft Flight Simulator. The aircraft has been developed by Blackbird Simulations and is now available via the in-sim Marketplace.
The T-38A Talon is best known as the world’s first supersonic jet trainer, having served with the United States Air Force and NASA for decades. In Microsoft Flight Simulator, the aircraft focuses on delivering a classic jet experience, centred around analogue instrumentation and high-performance handling rather than modern glass avionics.

This Famous Flyer release recreates the early Northrop T-38A Talon variant, featuring a tandem cockpit layout, period-correct systems, and flight characteristics designed to reflect the aircraft’s real-world performance. Supersonic flight, rapid climb rates, and responsive handling are all key aspects of the experience.
A selection of liveries is included, representing historic operators such as the USAF, NASA, and other international users of the aircraft. As with previous Famous Flyer releases, the focus is on accessibility while maintaining authenticity, making it suitable for both casual and more experienced sim pilots.
Famous Flyer 13: Northrop T-38A Talon is available now on the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Marketplace, priced at $14.99, and is supported across PC and console platforms.
