At long last, the next World Update for Microsoft Flight Simulator has landed. World Update VII focuses on Australia, bringing with it numerous new airports, scenery objects, and more.
World Update VI: Australia adds four new hand-crafted airports to the simulator. Those are Longreach Airport (YLRE), Mount Beauty Airport (YMBT), Paraburdoo (YPBO) and Shellharbour Airport (YSHL). In addition, over 90 new points of interest have been added, including Anzac Bridge, Brisbane Skytower, Eureka Tower, Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and many more. All of the airports and points of interest have been developed by Orbx.
As with previous World Updates, this one also comes with additional Landing Challenges (Brisbane, Mt Hotam and Katoomba to name a few), along with additional Discovery Flights over Sydney, Gold Coast, Perth and more.
Version 1.22.2.0 of Microsoft Flight Simulator does more than just give you the ability to access World Update VII thanks to improvements with the default airports in the simulator. Across Australia, there are 100 airports that have seen improved airport data, whilst another 54 airports have been added to the simulator. Furthermore, more than 500 airports, in general, have been added to Microsoft Flight Simulator around the world. These are not handcrafted airports, but those which are made based on airport data.
You can download the update now through Steam or the Xbox / Windows application. As a reminder, be sure to move your ‘Community’ folder before relaunching and applying the update to ensure stability.
