Microsoft has confirmed that their all-new Microsoft Flight Simulator will release on Tuesday, August 18th 2020. Along with the confirmed release date for the all-new simulator, pricing and various editions have also been confirmed.
Announced via a press release sent to FSElite, Microsoft will release three different editions for the new simulator. Those are the Standard Edition, the Deluxe Edition and finally the Premium Deluxe Edition. All three will feature vivid and detailed landscapes, dynamic weather, an interactive checklist system and a large number of detailed airports and aircraft. The differences lie in the variations in included aircraft and detailed airports.
Both Xbox Game Studios and Asobo Studio have said that “we have the right tools, technology, partners and hardware to release the most realistic and authentic flight simulator to date.”
The Standard Edition will retail for $59.99 USD both as a digital download for Windows 10 as well as a physical copy via Aerosoft in Europe. The standard edition will also be made available via Xbox Game Pass for PC. Included with the Standard Edition is 30 highly detailed and accurate airports from around the world, as well as 20 feature-rich aircraft. Aircraft such as the Airbus A320 NEO, the Boeing 747-8i, Diamond DA62 and the Cessna 172 will all feature in the Standard Edition. As for airports, get ready to explore destinations such as Innsbruck, Los Angeles, JFK, Sydney and many more in these detailed environments.
The Deluxe Edition includes everything found in the Standard Edition, along with 5 additional airports and aircraft.

- Diamond DA40-TDI
- Diamond DV20
- Beechcraft Baron G58
- Cessna 152 Aerobat
- Cessna 172 Skyhawk
Those 5 additional airports are as follows:
- Amsterdam International Airport
- Cairo International Airport
- Cape Town Airport
- Chicago O’Hare International Airport
- Madrid Barajas Airport
The Deluxe Edition will retail for $89.99 USD.
Finally, the Premium Deluxe Edition will also be made available and feature everything found in the Deluxe Edition, as well as another 5 additional airports and aircraft. This will give you a grand total of 40 airports and 30 detailed aircraft to choose from.
