As promised, Microsoft has shared the second episode of their Feature Discovery Series. This episode focuses entirely on the weather. This follows on from the 10-minute video from last week where Lionel Fuentes spoke to us about the world of Microsoft Flight Simulator.
This new video featuring David Dedeine, Creative Director, focuses on what we can expect from the all-new weather engine and features. As part of this video, lots of in-depth information regarding the new weather special effects, night lighting engine, volumetric clouds and also the live real-world engine. The new sim has been described to have an all-new atmospheric simulation.
Throughout the video, you can also see brand new footage, screenshots and also a glimpse of behind the scenes in the Asobo Studios.
Many of the features spoken about in this feature video we covered during our technical piece after our visit to Seattle to be amongst the first in the world to try the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. We also have our hands-on coverage, as well as our series of interviews for you to enjoy.
Tech Alpha Progress
The team also posted a brief update on Tech Alpha applications. Microsoft has confirmed that the notification process is underway, but wanted to provide a bit of information for those who may have registered to participate. Here are the key points they wanted to raise:
- One of our primary goals for the Build Program is to get everyone interested in early build testing, actually testing early builds.
- Though we have limited participation numbers in our first build release, we are actively working to scale participation numbers for future releases.
- If you were not selected for participation in this round, fear not, we’ve automatically registered you for the next build release.
- So while you may not have been selected for participation in the first Tech Alpha, please know that we are actively working to get as many people into the testing process, as quickly as possible.
We also featured Microsoft Flight Simulator in our second issue of the FSElite Magazine. Head here to pick up your physical copy (or PDF Edition).
