Announced at this year’s Game Awards, Microsoft Flight Simulator will be coming to Xbox Series X|S in Summer 2021.
A brand new trailer revealing the first look at the simulator on the next generation consoles was shared. The footage was captured directly on Xbox Series X at 4K.
“Simmers on Xbox Series X|S can expect the same level of depth as the PC version, allowing you to experience the most authentic and realistic flight simulator we have ever created.”
Players who fly the simulator through the consoles will also enjoy the World Update packs, including the recently released USA update and the upcoming United Kingdom pack.
As with the current PC version, you will be able to fly anywhere in the world using the same data to populate the world. Data will stream to your simulator on your console to create the breathtaking world. As mentioned in the press release, this means that over 37 thousand airports, 2 million cities, 1.5 billion buildings, real mountains, roads, trees, rivers, animals, traffic, and more will all be available in the console version.
Despite being originally announced for Xbox One during E3 2019, no mention of that particular console was made in the press release.
Microsoft Flight Simulator for Xbox Series X|S will also be made available through Xbox Game Pass on day one.
