Microsoft Flight Simulator Closed Beta Now Available

Microsoft has just announced that the closed beta for their upcoming Flight Simulator has been released. Coming two days earlier than expected, let’s take a look at what is new with the sim with this 1.6.13 release.

Version 1.6.13 includes a number of additions, including a number of new aircraft, lots of new landing challenges, new flight training tutorials, and new bush trips. One addition that lots of people will be happy about is the addition of Track IR support. A full list of additions to the sim can be found below.

For those in the Alpha, you already have access to the closed beta. Invitations will continue to be sent out through the 30th of this month as well.

Track IR

Microsoft Flight Sim now supports Track IR. This must be configured outside of the sim in the normal method. Track IR is available in the following locations:

  • In-flight – Cockpit camera
  • In-flight – Chase camera
