When Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 launches on November 19th 2024, it will be released on both PC and Xbox Series consoles at the same time. This is unlike the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 when the PC and console launches were staggered by around 11 months. What will remain similar though is how there are multiple editions available to customers on day 1 of release.
During the Global Preview Event, Microsoft confirmed what these editions are and what we can expect in each of them. There is also a new SKU and also information on a special collector’s edition. Below is each of the editions and their included content.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Standard Edition
The Standard Edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be the base SKU. It will also be the cheapest of the SKUs available to buy when it launches on November 19th 2024.

Regardless of which edition you pick up, you will have access to all activities, missions, career modes, and of course free flight. Only the differences in aircraft and upgraded airports are affected by the SKU you own.
In addition to the new SKUs we also learned of new physical editions when the simulator launches on November 19th 2024.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Premium Deluxe Physical Edition
There will also be a physical version of the Premium Deluxe version of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, that includes a steel book with a unique design and a lanyard.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Collector’s Edition
Described as a “love letter” to the community, the Collector’s Edition box will come with a physical AN-225 model inside, special commemorative pins, a flight bag, and also the Aviator Edition as a physical product.
